ESTRELLA DE LA MANANA
UNE NUIT NOMADE
2024
The mountainous slopes of Eastern Mexico blended into the warm and humid veil of late summer. In Veracruz, the daughter of King Tenizti III, with stunning beauty and nicknamed Estrella de la Mañana, ran across the plains. She locked eyes with a young boy wearing antlers on his head, Prince Cerf. They exchanged only a few words, but the magic of love was set in motion.

When King Tenizti III learned of this romance, he was blinded with rage. He sent his priests in pursuit of them. The sky darkened. He decided that the souls of Estrella de la Mañana and Prince Cerf would be sacrificed to appease the wrath of the Gods.

From the tears of their blood, a small shrub was born, its branches intertwined like the lovers in their last embrace. Star-shaped flowers covered the entire tree. A few days later, the first black vanilla pods swayed in the wind, whispering the fragrance of the lost lovers.
‘Estrella de la Mañana’ is a black vanilla pod, split open at its heart and consumed in the burning hearth of a fireplace. The dark cocoa powder and the roundness of vanilla give it a unique trail.
